What is Commercial KPIs?

In an ideal world, you would know everything you want to about your bookings – where are they coming from, who are the best travel agents, are their bookings clean from a Revenue Integrity perspective, where are the gaps, who is feeding our network, what are their preferred ODs?

Our integrated reporting solution called ‘Commercial KPIs’ (CKPI) provides exactly that, and more.

Whether you are a Revenue Integrity Analyst or work in one of the wider Commercial Departments (such as Marketing, Sales, Revenue Management or Network Development) our CKPI reports can provide vital intelligence into your part of the business. With that intelligence comes real insight, and from real insight comes better decisions-making.

CPKI sits on top of our SAND data warehouse, and works alongside our ARID revenue integrity solution, so you will benefit from having access to all the PNR and Ticket data. If you use ARID then this includes details of any booking quality issues discovered.

Commercial Key Performance Indicators (CKPI)

Our embedded reporting solution is called CKPI and it provides users with a highly flexible, highly capable report and analysis capability.

All of the data you have chosen to load into SAND will be available to you, and a range of standard dashboards and reports focused on your Commercial Departments will be available to you. If you are also using our ARID revenue integrity solution, then the added dimension of booking quality is added. The list below gives you an idea of the type of reports and analysis available:

  1. Sales – top agents, booking comparisons, eCommerce analysis, forward bookings, seasonality
  2. Network – O&D behaviour, feed and discharge, transfer analysis, codeshare and SPA analysis
  3. RM/RI – RI key facts and analysis, agent abuse, flights affected, group materialisation, late cancellations

Our CKPI solution can deliver your Commercial Departments actionable intelligence, whether you are working in Sales, Network Development or Revenue Management. Every PNR and Ticket that is loaded into the SAND data warehouse is available to be used in reporting, whether forward booked, flown or cancelled. We store detailed data typically for 2 years before archiving.

The CKPI reporting solution gives users a range of benefits:

  • Out-of-the-box dashboards and reports – we have worked with a wide range of airlines over the years, and have listened to their reporting needs. As a result, we have developed a number of standard reports that all of our customers have requested, addressing the needs of Sales, Network Development and Revenue Management teams.
  • Reports when and how you want them – CKPI gives you timely intelligence about your Commercial Department’s performance. It can be configured to push reports and alerts to you based on user-defined events. If you want to know about any Group Booking cancellations, or about MCT violations increasing over a threshold then CKPI has got it covered. You don’t even need to be in the office, CKPI can email you.
  • Create actionable intelligence – all reports should pass the ‘why do we need it’ test. The dashboards and reports in CKPI are all designed to highlight situations that are either good, or not so good. In the latter case, we give you the capability to explore and identify the causes of the poor performance, so that you can take corrective action.

Our SAND commercial data warehouse for airlines forms the basis for CKPI. It is highly flexible and can load a wide variety of industry-standard commercial data. It can use PNR and Post Departure data from any of SITA, Sabre, Amadeus or HP. It can use Ticket data in IATA HOT file or ATPCo TCN format.

The key features of CKPI include its ease-of-use, library of out-of-the-box dashboards and reports, and excellent self-service capability. The following will give you an introduction to these key features:

  • Ease-of-use – the CKPI reporting solution is very easy to use. Common reports and dashboards are already created for you. They are accessible through the report library inside of the ARID user front-end if you are in the office, or via push-reporting or web-access if you are away from your desk. You can decide whether you only want to see reports based on a schedule or triggered by events/thresholds.
  • Report library – we have developed an extensive range of reports which are available to you without you having to put in any effort. They are interactive, customisable, and cover common requirements of Commercial Departments such as Sales, Revenue Management and Network Development. The library will become more extensive over time as our airline customers come up with new ideas.
  • Self-service capability – the CKPI reporting solution is an open book. You can use the dashboards, reports and analysis in the library as templates, and adapt them to create your own versions. You can also create entirely new reports which can be added to the library. These self-service reports can also include data imported from outside of SAND such as budgets, average passenger values or demand forecasts, which can prove very useful in commercial decision-making.
